What we ask of everyone

House rules, kept simple.

A calm, safe home runs on a little structure. These are the things every resident agrees to, and none of them are meant to catch you out. We walk through all of it with you before you move in, so nothing is ever a surprise.

FAKE-WAITING: this is a strong starting draft written in the home's voice. Replace with Lindsey's actual house rules, and fill the confirmations noted below, before launch.

  • Safety & a substance-free home

    • No alcohol or drugs in the home or anywhere on the property. This is the one thing that keeps everyone safe.
    • We test for drugs and alcohol, both scheduled and at random.FAKE-WAITING: confirm the testing cadence.
    • No weapons of any kind in the home.
  • Respect for one another

    • Treat every resident, child, and staff member with honesty and kindness.
    • No violence, threats, or taking what is not yours.
    • What someone shares inside the house stays in the house.
  • Your children

    • You are your children's caregiver while you are in the home.FAKE-WAITING: confirm supervision expectations.
    • We keep the home calm for the kids, with quiet hours and bedtimes respected.

    • Take part in house meetings.FAKE-WAITING: confirm how often.
    • If you are struggling, tell staff before it becomes a relapse. We would so much rather help than judge.

    • Respect other residents' rooms, space, and belongings.
    • Overnight guests and visits are arranged with staff.FAKE-WAITING: confirm overnight and visitor specifics.

The agreement

None of this is about control.

Every rule here exists for one reason: to protect the women and children who call this place home. Living at Roots and Wings means agreeing to keep them, for your own recovery and for everyone else's. And if something ever feels unclear, you can always ask. We would rather talk it through than leave you guessing.

Questions about any of these?

Ask us anything, before you decide.

There is no such thing as a silly question. Call us and we will walk through the rules, the home, and what life here really looks like, honestly.
